Burns Night in Newfoundland, Sorta.

Scottish poet Robert Burns was born on January 25th, 1759 and legions of fans the world over, including Newfoundland, mark the occasion on January 25th every year. For the last decade (or so) there's been an annual Burns Night party in my hometown. Like most parties, it's probably not happening this year.

Rather than let the occasion slip by, a locally-themed, socially-responsible option might be to watch the following video. It is the official music video for The Tenors’ recording of Auld Lang Syne. The words are generally attributed to Burns but he may be more responsible for preserving them than writing them.

The video was shot in Newfoundland and features beautiful views of Western Brook Pond, Cape Spear and points in between.

So pour a scotch, contemplate learning to make haggis and celebrate Robbie Burns and Newfoundland in one 4-minute video.
