Is Gordon Lightfoot's Song for a Winter Night a Christmas song?

It seems to have gained traction as such — there's even a cover of it, by Sarah Machlachlan, in the remake of Miracle of 34th Street. I guess that’s a pretty strong endorsement.

It’s a song about longing to be with someone you love, set against imagery of low-burning lamps and drifting snow. It paints quite a winter picture.

My favourite version is by Newfoundland's Rum Ragged. It appears on their Rum Ragged at Christmas collection.
