BRDGS: Falling Apart

Falling Apart, the latest album by Newfoundland-born, Toronto-based BRDGS (formerly of the duo Everglow) is a non-stop pop explosion — most of it relentlessly upbeat. So upbeat sounding, with its hooky choruses and gonna-make-you-move beats, that you could overlook the fact that it’s almost entirely about failed relationships.

The juxtaposition of sad lyrics and happy sounds, really works — there’s catharsis in a catchy chorus, I think.  ‘Tonight (I’m Gonna Cry Myself To Sleep)’ is a great case in point — it’s a song about lying in bed crying but you can’t help but want to turn it into an anthem.

The whole album is win, as far as I’m concerned. It’s fun, mature and unapologetically pop. Can’t wait for more.

Check it out — lots of listening options here.

If you’re new to BRDGS, be sure to explore his back catalogue — It’s full of gems… and you’ll probably recognize In The Wild.
