High School Locker by The Way East

Every now and then, a new band bursts onto the scene with a debut that makes you sit up and pay attention. Enter The Way East, a St. John’s band that just released their first single, ‘High School Locker,’ last week—and it’s a good one.

I’ll admit, I don’t know much about the band yet, but if this track is any indication of what’s to come, they’re one to watch. ‘High School Locker’ is high-energy and packed with the kind of rock vibes that instantly grab you. A bit of a throwback feel, but with a modern edge… which fits nicely with the themes explored in the lyrics (recollections, of high-school star-crossed ‘love fools’).

If you haven’t heard of The Way East yet, now’s the time to change that. Check out ‘High School Locker’ wherever you stream music, and keep an eye out—this is definitely just the beginning.
