Just Like Christmas by Land of the Lakes

It’s Friday the 13th, and while some might be bracing for bad luck, the day is looking up as far as I’m concerned.

Land of the Lakes just gifted us with a holiday gem! Their dreamy new cover of ‘Just Like Christmas’ hit Bandcamp yesterday, and it’s the indie-dream-pop vibe you didn’t know your playlist needed.

I’ve loved the song, which is a cover of Low’s 1999 indie-pop holiday tune, for more than 20-years now.

This year St. John’s own indie rock/pop/folk duo — Land of the Lakes (aka Matthew J Thomson and Danielle R Hamel) have given it their own sparkly, jingle bell-laden twist. Think laid back, effortlessly cool vibes… and just the right amount of nostalgia. Its great stuff.

So whether you’re spending the day dodging black cats or just trying to survive the pre-season rush, this track is here to sprinkle a little holiday magic into your day. Add it to your playlist and let ‘Just Like Christmas’ carry you through the rest of December like… I don’t know… like you were in Oslo and the snow was gone…

Head over to Bandcamp and get Just like Christmas today.
