Elder Caius: Alien Space Bats/ From Below

I like a great experimental artist; someone who takes a somewhat unconventional sound and turns it into a piece of music that just emotes.

Elder Caius (aka Evan Watton) is an artist like that, at least judging by their latest release ‘Alien Space Bats/From Below’.

I’m pretty into ‘Alien Space Bats’.

The track, which was released today, is a creative, aural journey that goes from an almost noise-like opening to a cohesive, thoughtful piece of music comprised of drums, piano and vocal clips. It’s a soundscape that’s intriguing from the get-go, and entertaining through to the end.

‘From Below’ maintains the same creativity but introduces a driving beat and heavier bass. It feels dark and energetic.

The songs are worth worth checking out for sure. You can hear “Alien Space Bats’ and ‘From Below’ above or on your favourite streaming service.

Be sure to check out Elder Caius’ latest RPM challenge offering, Kailash, When It Rises on bandcamp, too.
