John Moran’s Not Dead Yet

John Moran’s new single ‘Not Dead Yet’ is a fantastic piece of indie pop that feels built for sunny summer afternoons — or pleasantly warm May 2-4 weekends, for that matter.

Lyrically, the track takes a look back at a long lost childhood relationship. Moran recalls days “dancing in the hallway holding hands, laughing at the pictures in the picture frames,” taking listeners on a journey through the golden-hues memories of youth coupled with the hopeful(?) reminder, “I guess we’re not dead yet.”

Sonically, it continues with the nostalgia. “Not Dead Yet” feels like it takes a cue from the 80’s radio with a tinge of psychedelic rock and a heavily hooky chorus that will make you wanna sing.

I’m going to be listening to it a lot in the coming months. I know it already.

And I’m very much looking forward to Moran’s coming work.
