Winter Wonderland by The Ennis Sisters

It’s been a fairly green December and, as I write this, the temperature is in the double digits.

That all looks set to change. Environment Canada has issued a ‘Special Weather Statement’ and there’s freezing rain, snow and wind on the way.

Winter Wonderland? Not so much.

A wrench in my holiday travel plans? More likely.

I’m going to try to grin and bear it. Part of that strategy is an upbeat winter song courtesy of The Ennis Sisters. I don’t know if it’s going to work, but a dose of happy, winter- positive-thought couldn’t hurt.

You can check out The Ennis Sisters website to find concert dates. They are playing across the country through December before wrapping up with a run of shows in Newfoundland and Labrador (concluding with two shows in St. John’s on December 21st and 22nd.)

More Christmas and Holiday Music from Newfoundland & Labrador

Stay tuned for more great Christmas songs from Newfoundland and Labrador.

I'm a big fan of traditional Christmas music, I love to hear a modern rendition of a 300 year old carol but, occasionally, a brand new song comes to my attention and dominates my Christmas listening. Newfoundland and Labrador's musicians have been holding their own in both regards. I’ll be sharing local songs —both old and new— from now until Christmas in my 2023 NL Music Advent Calendar.

Robert grew up in a tiny Newfoundland community called Happy Adventure. These days he lives in Gander, NL and his happiest adventures are spent with his two Labrador retrievers exploring the island while listening to a soundtrack of local music.

When the dogs are napping Robert takes photos, writes about Newfoundland, and makes a podcast.
