Peter Vance’s Nothing To Lose
Peter Vance’s new single ‘Nothing To Lose’ is an infectious, radio-friendly song that’s a perfect soundtrack for summer road-tripping — it’s upbeat, energetic and catchy.
But then, crafting catchy music is not new to Vance; his single ‘Breaking Chains’ was one of my go-to tracks of 2022. It was solid 80s-infused pop-rock (backed-up by a cool video). I couldn’t stop singing it.
‘Nothing to Lose’ picks up where ‘Breaking Chains’ left off in terms of solid song craft, but it sees Vance exploring a new country sound. “If you told me 2-3 years ago I’d be releasing a country song I wouldn’t believe you,” says Vance, “but this is such a natural progression for me. My mix of rootsy rock-n-roll & pop writing sensibilities lend itself well to country storytelling.”
I can’t argue.
With “Nothing To Lose” Vance has handily introduced his music to a whole new audience while keeping the fans of ‘Breaking Chains’ happy and ready to dance.
It’s no small feat, really; but then, anything’s possible when the music’s this good.
