Youngtree & the Blooms

It’s no stretch to say that Musical Chairs by Youngtree and the Blooms is one of my favourite albums. I own it on vinyl — and I don’t find shelf space for mediocre records.

To say I was looking forward to the new YtB’s album is an understatement. I’ve been enjoying the pre-release tracks (Heaven Ain’t A Lonely Road, Waiting For Us, and I’m Not That Anymore). Happily the album is every bit as solid as the advance tracks.

Better even.

The tracks sit well as a collection and complement one another. Thoughtful lyrics, compelling melodies and great storytelling.

It’s an album worth hearing again and again.
