A Song for Christmastime by Brad Tuck and Rosemary Lawton

It’s strange how nostalgia is often weirdly fictitious.

The brand new track ‘A Song for Christmastime’ by Brad Tuck and Rosemary Lawton gives me major Christmas-y nostalgia. Though I haven’t experienced many of the things they describe.

I’ve never waltzed on Nan’s old kitchen floor or been party to much spoon playing but they way they sing about it well, it all seems familiar and comfortable.

As with most things holiday related, I guess, it’s not what you do it’s who you get to do it with. While my experiences differ from theirs, I definitely recognize the draw of family, friends and home and have nostalgia for the days when spending Christmas with all the people I wanted to was easy.

The song is definitely worth adding to your holiday playlists.

More Christmas and Holiday Music from Newfoundland & Labrador

Stay tuned for more great Christmas songs from Newfoundland and Labrador.

I'm a big fan of traditional Christmas music, I love to hear a modern rendition of a 300 year old carol but, occasionally, a brand new song comes to my attention and dominates my Christmas listening. Newfoundland and Labrador's musicians have been holding their own in both regards. I’ll be sharing local songs —both old and new— from now until Christmas in my 2022 NL Music Advent Calendar.
