Something’s Gonna Come For Me: Youngtree and the Blooms

If you’ve been paying attention you already know that I’m a big fan of Youngtree and The Blooms.

She Found Me’ from their 2018 album Musical Chairs has earned it’s place among my all-time most played songs. It’s just a great piece of alt-country/rock.

I’m always excited when the group releases new music. Their eponymous follow-up to Musical Chairs didn’t disappoint, and if their new single “Something’s Gonna Come For Me” is any indication, they’re not letting me down any time soon.

“Something’s Gonna Come For Me” is an engaging, albeit whimsically dark, addition to their already darkishly whimsical canon. It’s a sort of radio-friendly memento mori, that manages to work in the term glioblastoma. And it manages to do it while still making you want to sing along. It’s no mean feat, I think.

Check out “Something’s Gonna Come For Me” (and all of Youngtree & The Blooms catalog) wherever you get your music.
