Strange Truths & Tall Tales Podcast
Strange Truths and Tall Tales is a podcast about the stories of Newfoundland, Canada.
We tell all kinds of stories but the ‘strange and unusual’ is our sweet-spot. You’ll hear true-life accounts of death-defying courage, tales of horrible sea monsters and stories of murderous mummers.
Alongside history and folklore, we chat with modern-day storytellers. Guest artists and pop culture contributors stop by to tell their stories, talk about their work and the things that inspire them.
It’s a bit like ‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not’ meets ‘Entertainment Tonight.’
Strange bedfellows? Definitely.
It’s fun though… and it makes more sense than you might think.
So, spend a few minutes with us exploring the stories of Newfoundland or, as we like to say here, spend some time unravelling ‘the yarns that knit ya’.
Strange Truths and Tall Tales is hosted by Robert, a blogger from Newfoundland and Labrador, who has been writing about contemporary Newfoundland culture for years. He lives in Gander, NL where he records the podcast with the help of his two noisy Labrador retrievers.
